Second Annual Survivor Event

All Survivors are invited to join us for
the Honorary Survivor Lap at the

2008 Relay For Life of the Santa Clarita Valley

9:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Central Park.

We are honored to have our Survivors walk the First Lap of this 24-hour event.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continue until 9 a.m. Sunday.
The Survivor Lap starts right after the opening ceremony, which begins promptly at 9 a.m. Saturday.

This year we have a redesigned Survivor Village thanks to our sponsor, Subaru of Sherman Oaks.
Please arrive between 8 and 8:30 a.m. to sign in and to receive your complimentary survivor shirt, medal, and goodie bag, plus an itinerary of the day’s survivorship events.  Enjoy a continental breakfast and share time with other survivors.

Our survivors are the kick-off walkers for the event and following them all the teams make their first lap.  Immediately following the Team Lap, there will be a special drawing back at the Village (around 10 a.m.).  The day's events will begin with a presentation from Judith Harris.  Trained as both a teacher and psychotherapist, Judith blends humor, psychology and culture in a unique and powerful way to help us understand how we become who we are.  Her programs make you think, bring you laughter, restore your perspective and renew your spirit.

Also at 10 a.m., there will be a scavenger hunt designed by Nathan Crookston for survivors 18 and under.
Nathan is our Youth Ambassador and will be leading this new event.  At the end there will be special prizes for the winners!
